Rittergut Valenbrook

Where history meets flavor.

Deeply rooted in the North German marshlands, surrounded by open landscapes and a sense of Nordic calm, lies Rittergut Valenbrook – a place rich in history, character, and a distinctive culinary signature. Since 1895, the estate has been owned by the Leisewitz family, a lineage of Bremen merchants, and is now lovingly run by the fifth generation. But the estate’s history stretches back much further – to the Middle Ages, when it belonged to Burg Elm and later passed into the hands of George of Hanover. From this rich past emerged a place that is now more than just a manor: it is a refuge for regionality, craftsmanship, and indulgence. In 2008, the Valenbrook Delicatessen Manufactory was founded on the estate – a passion project dedicated to the artisanal creation of regional specialties. Produced in the traditional way, with great attention to detail and based on time-honored recipes, the products made here do more than simply taste good – they tell stories. From the now iconic Valenbrooker Bratwurst Mustard, a true North German classic, to fine delicacies crafted from local ingredients – every product bears the signature of the region and the house: authentic, honest, and distinctly northern. “Preserving the good – and discovering the new.” That is the guiding principle of the estate. And it’s how, in the heart of the Cuxland region, products are created that captivate with their quality, authenticity, and nostalgic charm.
